Call the cops ‘cos I’m so f**king gorgeous screams singer David Brennan as the first track starts on the new Funbox EP from Bones Shake.  A band who play scuzzed up punk blues and should be no strangers to regular readers of Manchester Rocks, we do bang on about them… and for good reason!

Cops is simply ferocious in it’s delivery, grabbing you by the neck and reading you the riot act; there will be no mercy.

Like a hammer hitting a nail, Funbox batters you with it’s nasty beat and even nastier lyrics, the feedback slicing right through your fingers.

Politics is always a hot topic especially when they are Liars, the vitriol in Brennan's voice is palpable as the song is transported in it’s own punk backdrop.

Finishing off is Devil, a slow blues piece where you can feel Beelzebub himself slowly driving a hot pitchfork through your soul.

This EP captures their intensity and their passion perfectly but there is an added ‘je me sais quoi’ to their live performances that just gets you.  Go see them, you will not be disappointed.
