This Saturday Federal Charm return to Manchester as they headline The Deaf Institute on the fourth date of their current tour, and it will be the third time they have played here. “Everything about the venue is fantastic from the organisation and the way it is run to the sound, and it is the perfect capacity for us too” guitarist Paul Bowe states excitedly.

The show will allow their hometown fans to witness the exciting new line-up with new recruits Josh Zahler on drums along with Tom Guyer whose powerful voice adds a new dimension to the band, both of whom are sure to elevate the Federal Charm much further.

“The Bristol show was the turning point for us showing everyone how far we have come having opened up for Y&T, UFO and Brian Downey.  We seem to be rehearsing more and everyone is fully wanting to play” says Paul when we ask him how things are going so far.  The band have also been hard at work recording a new album – news of which we are sure will be coming soon.

Paul explains what people are going to witness on Saturday night as “the set will be a long one, as well spanning the two previous albums there will be quite a bit of the new material, it will be well balanced and we may throw in a couple of covers too but that is undecided at the moment.”

Support will be provided once more by Gorilla Riot whose frontman, Arjun Bhishma, tore some ligaments in one of his feet on stage last weekend “I know how he feels as I broke one of my feet before the Joanne Shaw Taylor tour and I had to do a few shows sat down” says Paul sympathetically, “it will be frustrating for him as he likes to get about.  The band are really good, with fine songs and great players and they sit well in the scene, it is always a pleasure to play with them.”

Opening up the event will be The Rogue Network who play contemporary blues with some solid riffs, they currently have a new song out called Supply & Demand and are well worth getting down early to see.
