Neighbourhood Festival set to tour 16 major UK cities showcasing some of Manchester’s finest talent

Words: Tanisha Hanna-Beards

It seems one city is simply no longer big enough to house the ever-growing army of fans who flock to see Manchester’s annual Neighbourhood Festival. So what do you do when the festival-goers want more but you don’t have room to gather them all under one roof? Take the show on the road of course.

Set to party its way across the UK in February 2017, this tour will certainly be bouncing in true Neighbourhood style.

Headlining this latest venture is Manchester’s very own hot ticket Cabbage. Juxtaposing poetically humorous lyrics with a sprinkling of post-punk rage gives this funky five-piece an edgy sound that resonates remarkably well on a live stage. Known for their wacky and wild live performances, Cabbage’s eagerly awaited set will be the musical jewel in this touring crown. However, they certainly won’t be venturing on tour alone…

Cabbage shan’t be the only ones to grace the stage as they’ll be joined by Bristol-based, indie 5 piece The Shimmer Band and newcomers April. With a trio of amazing bands in tow, this tour is set to light up stages in most major cities across the UK including Manchester, Nottingham, London and Glasgow.

With a carefully hand-picked line-up, each band’s varied yet crafted piece clicks well into this touring jigsaw of live music, making for a show certainly worth a watch for dedicated fans and newcomers alike.

If all of this doesn’t tantalise your musical taste buds enough then head over to the Neighbourhood Festival website for more details of what’s to come or even nab yourself a ticket or two while you still can. Get in fast and join this upcoming tour of marvellous, musical mayhem before it’s too late.
