Manchester Musicians Unite With NØWT

A new band has emerged and got our imaginations firing. Featuring members of some of Manchester's dirtiest sounding bands - namely Lester Verde, PIST, Void & Jackknife Holiday - as well as Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard vocalist Jessica Ball, although information on the band is scarce at the moment, the scene is already salivating at the prospect of their noise making.

Alongside Jessica Ball, the band consists of Eytan Dorron (Jacknife Holiday & NOIZ Promotions), Simon Mayo (Under) Chris Taylor (Lester Verde), Dave Rowlands (PIST) & Rob Wellock (VOID).

The most intriguing thing about the band however is not so much who make up the band - even though that alone is pant-wettingly exciting - is the number of vocalists. While Ball and Dorron are the only two sole vocalists in the band (their other musical roles listed as 'noise'), guitarists Chris Taylor and Simon Mayo, Rowlands, who also plays bass and drummer Rob Wellock will all contribute vocals. Wellock, VOID's energetic and enigmatic sticksman has spoke about his desire to sing in a band for some time now, so couple that with his uncanny ability of Mongolian throat singing and you have quite the musical prospect.

Only time will tell whether these fantastic musicians can merge together to create the ultimate noise making machine or whether their egos will collide and combust, the whole thing going up in a ball of flames, tears and weed smoke. Either way, we'll be watching very closely and you should too.
