Dan Patlansky - Bridgewater Hall

It is only 6 months since Dan Patlansky trod the boards at the Deaf Institute here in Manchester and the man with a well worn Fender Stratocaster is back, this time opening for Joanne Shaw Taylor at the Bridgewater Hall.
A fair size crowd has arrived early to see his and they are not disappointed as he cherry picks tracks from his last album Introvertigo treating us to a driving, passionate performance showing us why he his stature as a musician and performer are growing at an incredible rate.
Patlansky battles with the Hall’s infamously bad acoustics (rock concerts should be banned at the Bridgewater Hall) but overcomes with the blistering Backbite and Sonavva Faith. The extended set closer My Chana has jaws on the floor with his unusual and creative playing style.
A good proportion of the crowd give Patlansky a standing ovation at the end of the set and you just know they are going to back watching him on his tour next year – it can only be a matter of time before he fills venues of this size as a headline act.
