Prognosis Unveil Line-Up For November 5th Headline Show

Manchester progressive metal act Prognosis headline Rebellion Saturday 5th November and now they have announced a stellar line-up for the show.

“This will be our first proper headline show in Manchester and so we wanted to celebrate that by bringing in all sorts of bands we’ve met and discovered, gigged and made friends with in our relatively short life as Prognosis this far,” guitarist Phil Weller reveals, with the show coinciding with his 23rd birthday.

London metallers, Stoneghost head up the other acts on the bill. Their penchant for greasy grooves and brazen riff work has led to their inclusion in Metal Hammer’s recent 30th anniversary covers CD, with the band tackling Metallica’s I Disappear, representing the next generation of British metal in the process. Returning to Manchester for only the second time, with Prognosis supporting them last time around, this is the perfect opportunity for the band to establish themselves in our Northern city.

“We’ve very pleased to be coming back,” enthuses guitarist Drew Mathews. “It'll have been almost a year and a half since we last played, so it's definitely time we had another riff session with you. Expect a solid hour of premium riff-based entertainment; it'll be all kinds of fabulous! We're talking about trying out some new material too so it'll be interesting to see how that goes.”

While experiencing some Meshuggah inspired third eye visuals, fellow Prognosis guitarist discovered the band Pteroglyph, the video for My Way Home leaving its mark upon him. The Leeds band play a high velocity brand of epic, Devin Townsend inspired progressive metal and make an exciting addition to the bill.

The rest of the bill is completed by three Manchester bands Prognosis have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with on numerous occasions. From the gothic tinted stoner rock of Void – who promise some surprises tailor made for the show – to the whiplash thrash of Beyond Salvation (read our review of their new EP here) and the Manchester’s answer to Kyuss, Lester Verde, it is sure to be a very entertaining bill celebrating heavy music in a myriad of forms.

Tickets are £5, with the riffs starting at 6pm.
