Prognosis Tease New Song Ahead Of Live Debut
Mancunian progressive metal band have teased fans with the title of a new song they will be debuting at their Metal To The Masses semi-final at Rebellion Thursday 8th June. The song, entitled The High Road, is generating a lot of intrigue and excitement ahead of their show, and Phil Weller has opened up a little more about what to expect from it:
"We've had the main riff knocking some time now but whichever direction we took with it we just couldn't get behind it, until now. It's a riff we all feel very confident about, we knew we couldn't just give up on it, it was worth another reprise. Over the past few weeks we've turned that riff into a song that really encapsulates everything we pride ourselves on; it's fast, heavy and technical, there are flashy lead guitar moments too, but it is also a very grounded song and Danny [Daemon, bassist/vocalist] has smashed it out of the park with the chorus. For all its mad prog elements, it is still accessible and groovy. To me the riff sounds like Muse's Stockholm Syndrome taken down more progressive, Dream Theater inspired path, but now it is only one piece of a much larger picture. We can't wait to show it off to the world now."
Competing for a spot at this year's Bloodstock Festival last year's finalists will be hoping to go one better this time around when they go up against three quality and very different bands in Lester Verde, Gorehead and 1968. Stoner rock, grindcore and blues laden hard rock, each band will be delivering their own unique flavour to what should be a highly competitive heat. Two places are up for grabs with Voodoo Blood and Skeletal Damage last week progressing from the first semi final.
Doors are 7pm, with bands playing until the results at 11pm. The event is free entry.
