Prognosis Reveal Full Line Up Ahead of Headline Show
Manchester prog metal crew, Prognosis, who feature at Mammoth Fest in October down in Brighton, have announced the full line up for their first Manchester headline show since 2016.
The show, which happens at The Star & Garter on Sunday 27th May, precedes the band’s debut album, expected later this year. They’ve already announced one of the supports for the show in the form of Liverpool’s death metal maestros, Revolting Chaos, who blew the band away when gigging together in March, and now the band have announced the completed line up with Those Snakes and Agent 47.
“We first came across Those Snakes when we were gigging together in Northampton,” Prognosis’ guitarist/vocalist Phil Weller remembers of the Staffordshire psychedelic thrash act. “They had a lot of Mastodon in their sound but with a bigger psych influence which really captured me, especially the last time we gigged with them. That was in the final of a battle of the bands and they really brought their A game. I knew we had to get them to play Manchester."
For their opening act, Prognosis turned to hometowners Agent 47, who describe their music as ‘angry therapy’. Currently powered by the inimitable drumming John Badger of Impavidus and Badger Fest notoriety, they build upon thick riffs with psychotic, enraged vocals that come across like modernised nu metal.
Advanced tickets for the show are £5 plus booking fee and available at the link below. Doors are 18:30, curfew is 22:30.
